I am an artist, best known for my pet portraiture. My digital pet portraits capture the classic style of an oil painting.
When not shooting portraits, I photograph beautiful landscapes, harbor scenes, wildlife and travel imagery. My personal projects include printing a book of digital paintings of the Amish Country in Holmes, County, Ohio and the Gravity Series of portrait photographs. Have a look through the wonderful galleries and see my range of subjects.I am a member of the Los Gatos Art Association and last year was a bronze and gold medal winner in their annual exhibition. A lover of the outdoors I have always been inspired by nature and wildlife as well as any interesting lighting effects that can be found in my own neighborhood.
My father, Bob Hines, was the National Wildlife artist for the Fish and Wildlife Service of the US Government. His influence and my education at the Columbus College of Art and Design greatly shaped my love of art and the outdoors. In the early ’70s I had the fortunate opportunity to study Japanese Woodblock printing under the acclaimed artist Toshi Yoshida in Japan.
